Intro

Q: Is Wallpaper back “in”?

A: We’ve been hearing this question asked for a long time! For us it never left….

Q: Should I hang my own wallpaper?

A: Hanging wallpaper is a skill that can take a long time to acquire. We’ve been to many jobs where unfortunately, the client tried to hang the paper themself or had the painter, who said they could hang wallpaper, do it. We recommend hiring a professional.

Q: Do you do in person estimates?

A: We do in person estimates on a case by case basis. The world being what it is, with the benefit the technology age provides, has allowed us to run our business more effectively and serve more clients by doing estimates over the phone or through email, with the client providing a detailed explanation of the job.

Q: What kind of wallpaper do you install?

A: Anything and everything. There’s little we haven’t seen. See our “who we service” section for a long list of brands we’ve installed.

Q: Are you insured?

A: Yes, licensed and insured up to 2,000,000.

Prep

Q: Do you prepare our walls?

A: We do minor prep when necessary or agreed upon, at our discretion, but generally all walls are expected to be ready upon our arrival. The extent of wall prep will largely depend on the type of wallpaper being installed.

Q: Do you prime the wall?

A: Certain papers will require primers more than others. While not usually necessary for installation, the main benefit is to make removal easier in the future, and for that reason we do recommend it. (see below about wallpaper removal)

Q: Do you repair drywall?

A: As mentioned above, we don’t usually do major repairs. But we are open to discussion or will have a recommendation should you need this, and have great people we work with.

Q: What do you require from us on installation day?

A: All fixtures to be removed from the walls, furniture out of the way of obstruction, and a nearby semi-open space (approx 6x6) to set up our table.

Q: Will you help remove furniture?

A: We don’t mind a light item or two, but since we try to avoid scenarios that would make us responsible for damage to someone else’s items, we may have to politely decline any extensive furniture moving.

Q: Is it possible to paint over wallpaper?

A: This strictly depends on the wallpaper and what you’re trying to accomplish. It is possible in some instances. We usually just recommend more wallpaper. More and more wallpaper.

Q: How can I help you, help me, help you?

A: Helping is so cool. If you’d like to help us give you an accurate idea of what it will take to do the job, more specifically a quote, here is what we need from you/how you can help us:

DETAILED information about the areas in question.

-dimensions of the room or area in question (length, width, height)

-the kind of room and any obstructions or work-arounds (sinks, toilets, windows, doors, showers)

-the amount of wallpaper ordered if ordered already

-photos of the room

-if new development or big project, blueprints if possible

All of this information in one email will greatly help us give you an accurate quote and idea of a timeline to do the job.

Installation

Q: Do you use any toxic chemicals?

A: No. Everything material we use is BPA free. Occasionally some may have an odor which we would forewarn about. Some wallpapers, however, do have a very potent ink smell.

Q: What can we expect to see and hear during the job?

A: Cleanliness, efficiency and respect for your space. There will be noise, but not your typical construction noise.

Q: Who will be installing my paper?

A: One of our trusted team members. It all depends.

Payment

Q: Do you require a deposit?

A: 50 percent deposit of the total is required to book us for a job.

Q: What kind of payment do you accept?

A: Check, card or cash or various cash aps (zelle, venmo, cashap). We’re working on accepting payments through our website. There is a 3% added fee associated with card payments.

Misc

Q: What’s the fastest way to remove wallpaper? And do you do it?

A: Unfortunately, there is rarely an easy way. Much of this depends on the condition of the walls underneath and the age of the paper. It’s very hard to tell what kind of job it will be before the removal starts. We do removal in rare instances but will try to guide you should this be something you need.

Q: Do you paint?

A: Not typically…but…

Although our specialty is wallpaper, some of our installers have painting backgrounds and are fine finish and scenic artists as well. We are actually amazing painters. If you are looking for fine finish or artistic services such as Venetian plaster or faux finishes, we can help you. If you’re in need of more standard house painting, we can refer you to one of our partners.

Q: Do you travel?

A: Yes, we get asked to do distant jobs all of the time. We are always open to making this possible.

Q: Do you sell Wallcovering?

A: Not yet….Stay tuned…
